Richard Jefferies is a Men's C1 200m sprint canoeist and has been selected for Team GB at London 2012.
He got into canoeing through the fast track programme Sporting Giants. His twin brother was also selected for the programme but did not progress.
Richard gave up his space at Loughborough University studying Sport Science to pursue canoeing. He was aiming for a career as a top Personal Trainer.
